The person who shows up when you can't
A keyholder is the emergency contact your alarm company, the police or a property manager calls when something happens at your property and the owner isn't there. Most people give that job to a neighbor or a relative. It works until the night it doesn't: the neighbor is in Ohio for the summer, the phone is on silent, or the person who answers has no idea where your water shut-off is.
Trident Home Watch takes that job on professionally. We keep a key, learn your alarm panel, shut-offs and breaker box, and keep your instructions on file. When the call comes, we go, we handle what needs handling, and we tell you exactly what we found.
Your alarm system can tell you something is wrong. It can't open the door for the fire department, shut off a water main or decide whether the plumber needs to come tonight.
That's the gap a keyholder fills. For an out-of-town owner it's the difference between a phone call with answers and a week of not knowing.
Alarms, leaks, outages and storms
One sign-up covers every reason someone might need to get inside your property in a hurry.
Alarm activations
Burglary, panic and motion alarms. We check the property, meet officers if they're dispatched, reset the system and report back.
Water leaks
Leak sensors, a neighbor seeing water under a door, a condo association calling about the unit below. We shut off the water first and document everything for your insurer.
Power outages
When the power has been out for hours in August, we check the AC, the refrigerator and the freezer, reset breakers and clocks, and tell you what made it.
Storm damage
After the wind drops we check the property, photograph damage and arrange emergency tarping or board-up with your approval.
Break-ins & police calls
Officers often need someone to let them in or secure the property after they clear it. We do both and arrange a lock change if one is needed.
Emergency access
Plumbers, restoration crews, locksmiths and fire inspectors. We let them in, stay on site and lock up when they leave.
Set up once. We're on call from then on.

Name Trident on your monitoring company's call list and your alarm registration. We'll help with both.
We respond and report
When a call comes, we go. You get a written report with photos, and nothing gets fixed without your OK.
For homes and for businesses
Residential keyholder
For homes and condos that sit empty for weeks or months at a time.
- Seasonal residents and second-home owners
- Owners who travel or work away from home
- Rental and vacation properties between guests
- Homes for sale, under renovation or between tenants
- Condo owners whose association wants a local contact on file
Commercial keyholder
For businesses that would rather not send an employee to an alarm in the middle of the night.
- Offices, retail stores and restaurants
- Medical, dental and professional practices
- Warehouses, shops and storage buildings
- Churches and community buildings
- Property managers covering several buildings
Your business rests easy because the after-hours call goes to people who do this for a living, with insurance behind them, instead of to whoever on staff lives closest.
A good neighbor is worth a lot. A keyholder is a job.
Plenty of neighbors are glad to help. The question is whether they can every time, at any hour, for as long as you're away.

Add Trident to your Cape Coral alarm profile
The City of Cape Coral requires alarm systems to be registered with its police department, and the registration form has spaces for keyholders: the people who will respond when the alarm goes off. Properties outside city limits register with the Lee County Sheriff's Office.
List Trident Home Watch as your secondary contact on that registration and on your monitoring company's call list. When the alarm trips and you can't be reached, the call comes to us instead of going unanswered. If you're not sure your alarm is registered at all, we'll help you check. An unregistered alarm costs more when it goes off.

Keyholder service FAQ
What is a keyholder service?
A keyholder is the person your alarm company, the police or a property manager calls when something happens at your property and the owner can't be there. We hold a key, know your alarm system and shut-offs, and respond in person to let in police, fire or a repair crew, secure the property and tell you exactly what we found.
Do I need a home watch plan to use your keyholder service?
No. Keyholder service stands on its own. Sign up, hand us a key, add us to your alarm call list, and we respond when you need us. If you later want regular home watch visits, we can add them, but you never have to.
What does keyholder service cost?
There's no plan or contract. You pay when we respond: $75 per response, +$25 after hours (nights, weekends and holidays). Every response includes a written report with photos.
How fast do you respond?
We answer the phone around the clock, every day of the year, and head out as soon as we've confirmed what's needed. The Cape Coral alarm registration form asks for keyholders who can respond within 30 minutes; tell us your address and we'll tell you honestly what to expect.
Can you be listed on my Cape Coral alarm registration?
Yes. The City of Cape Coral requires alarm systems to be registered with its police department, and the registration form includes spaces for keyholders. You can list Trident Home Watch there and on your monitoring company's call list. Properties outside city limits register with the Lee County Sheriff's Office, and we can be listed there too. If you're not sure your alarm is registered, we'll help you check.
Will you go inside if there's been a break-in?
Not before the police. If there are signs of forced entry, we wait for officers, let them in and walk the property after they clear it. Then we document the damage, secure what we can and arrange board-up or lock changes with your approval.
Do you offer commercial keyholder service?
Yes. Offices, retail stores, medical and professional practices, warehouses and churches use us as their after-hours keyholder so an owner or employee isn't driving across town alone at 2 a.m. We can be one of several contacts on your call list or the first one called.
What do I get after a response?
A written report with time stamps and photos: what triggered the call, what we found, what we did and anything that still needs attention. It's the same documentation insurance adjusters ask for.
Are you insured and background checked?
Yes. Trident Home Watch carries $1,000,000/$2,000,000 general liability insurance and a $20,000 surety bond. Everyone who works in your property has passed a fingerprint-based background check and a drug test.
What areas do you cover?
Cape Coral, Fort Myers, North Fort Myers, Pine Island, St. James City, Bokeelia, Burnt Store Marina and Punta Gorda.
