What Cape Coral does to an empty house
A home in Cape Coral faces a different list of problems than a house up north. These are the ones we look for on every visit.
Canals, seawalls and docks
More than 400 miles of canals means saltwater, seawalls, dock boards and lift cables, all aging while you are away. We check the waterfront on the same visit as the house.
Boat watch →Summer heat and humidity
A closed-up house in a Cape Coral August can grow mildew in days if the AC quits. We record the indoor humidity every visit and check the AC, the drain line and the air handler.
Hurricane season
Ian in 2022 and Milton in 2024 both hit the Cape hard. We put up shutters before a storm, check the house as soon as it is safe, and fly a drone over the roof for your insurer.
Storm services →Well, septic and irrigation
Much of the Cape still runs on well water and septic, and most yards have a sprinkler system. We watch for a pump that short-cycles, a septic alarm, and irrigation that is flooding a bed or missing the lawn.
Pools and lanai cages
Pool pumps fail, water levels drop, and one torn screen lets in leaves, frogs and wasps. We check the pool equipment, the water and the cage on every visit.
Alarms and the 2 a.m. call
The City of Cape Coral requires alarm systems to be registered, and someone local has to answer when yours goes off. We can be that keyholder, 24/7.
Keyholder service →You won't see your Cape Coral home for months. Our reports are how you will.
Most home watch reports come back as a row of checkmarks. Ours carry the evidence: readings, thermal images and photos, time-stamped after every visit.
- Infrared moisture checksThermal images find wet drywall and a struggling AC coil before a stain appears.
- Humidity, measured every visitA hygrometer reading on every report, so you know the house stayed between 45 and 55 percent.
- Drone roof photos after stormsAerial photos you can hand straight to your insurer.
- No sign you're goneUnmarked vehicles and no door magnets.

Cape Coral home watch FAQ
Do you cover all of Cape Coral?
Yes. Our office is in Northwest Cape Coral, and we watch homes in all four quadrants of the city, including Cape Harbour, Tarpon Point, the Yacht Club, Pelican and the north end along Burnt Store Road.
How much does home watch cost in Cape Coral?
Our plans are $65 a month for one visit, $109 for two visits and $179 for four visits, with a written report after every visit. Boat watch, keyholder, storm and concierge services can be added. There is no long-term contract.
Can you be the keyholder on my Cape Coral alarm registration?
Yes. The City of Cape Coral requires alarm systems to be registered with its police department, and the registration lists keyholders. You can list Trident Home Watch there and on your monitoring company's call list, with or without a home watch plan.
Do you check boats, docks and seawalls?
Yes. Boat watch adds your boat, lift and dock to the same visit as your home, with a battery reading and photos. We also photograph visible cracks or settling along the seawall cap so you can track changes.
What do you do when a hurricane is headed for Cape Coral?
Before the season we agree on a storm plan for your home and boat. When a storm is named we carry it out, including shutters if you have them. Afterward we check the property as soon as it is safe, send photos, fly a drone over the roof when conditions allow, and arrange emergency tarping if you need it.
My Cape Coral home is on well and septic. Do you check those?
Yes. On each visit we listen for the well pump short-cycling, check water pressure at the fixtures, and look at the septic alarm panel. If something is off, you hear from us the same day, and with your approval we call your well or septic company.
