What Bokeelia does to an empty house
Island homes face the same Florida problems as the mainland, plus a few of their own. These are the ones we watch for.
Storm surge and a single road
When Ian came ashore in 2022, Pine Island took some of the worst surge in Lee County, and the only road onto the island was cut for days. We agree on a storm plan before the season and get back to your house as soon as the road is open.
Storm services →Docks, lifts and salt air
Bokeelia homes face Charlotte Harbor, Jug Creek and canals that run out to open water. Salt air works on dock hardware, lift cables and anything metal. We check the waterfront on the same visit as the house.
Boat watch →Humidity with nobody home
A closed-up island house in August can grow mildew fast if the AC quits. We record the indoor humidity every visit and check the AC, the drain line and the air handler.
Septic and plumbing
Much of Pine Island runs on septic. We check the septic alarm panel, run water through every fixture and look for the slow leaks that turn into large insurance claims.
Wildlife at the screen line
Raccoons, wasps, frogs in the lanai and gaps in the soffits. Island homes sit close to nature, and nature moves in quickly when nobody is home. We check screens, soffits and lanai cages on every visit.
Alarms outside city limits
Bokeelia is unincorporated Lee County, so alarm registration and police response run through the Lee County Sheriff's Office. We can be the local keyholder on your alarm call list, 24/7.
Keyholder service →You won't see your Bokeelia home for months. Our reports are how you will.
Most home watch reports come back as a row of checkmarks. Ours carry the evidence: readings, thermal images and photos, time-stamped after every visit.
- Infrared moisture checksThermal images find wet drywall and a struggling AC coil before a stain appears.
- Humidity, measured every visitA hygrometer reading on every report, so you know the house stayed between 45 and 55 percent.
- Drone roof photos after stormsAerial photos you can hand straight to your insurer.
- No sign you're goneUnmarked vehicles and no door magnets.

Bokeelia home watch FAQ
Do you really cover Bokeelia?
Yes. Bokeelia is part of our regular Pine Island route. Visits are scheduled the same way as anywhere else we serve, and you get the same written report with photos and readings after every one.
How much does home watch cost in Bokeelia?
Our plans are $65 a month for one visit, $109 for two visits and $179 for four visits, with a written report after every visit. Boat watch, keyholder, storm and concierge services can be added. There is no long-term contract.
What happens if a storm cuts off Pine Island?
Before the season we agree on a storm plan for your home and boat, and we carry it out when a storm is named. After the storm we get to your home as soon as the road is open and it is safe to travel, send photos, fly a drone over the roof when conditions allow, and arrange emergency tarping if you need it.
Can you be the keyholder for my alarm in Bokeelia?
Yes. Properties outside city limits register their alarms with the Lee County Sheriff's Office. You can list Trident Home Watch as a keyholder there and on your monitoring company's call list, with or without a home watch plan.
Do you check boats, docks and lifts?
Yes. Boat watch adds your boat, lift and dock to the same visit as your home, with a battery reading and photos, so you know the waterfront is in the same shape you left it.
My Bokeelia home is on septic. Do you check it?
Yes. On each visit we check the septic alarm panel, run water through the fixtures and watch for slow drains or odors near the drain field. If something is off, you hear from us the same day, and with your approval we call your septic company.
